What are potential issues with using 'Reserve positions' on Cryptohopper

Reserve positions issues occur when reserved coins are withdrawn or sold directly on your exchange, causing your trading bot to show incorrect holdings.

Issues with Reserve positions arise when you change or move reserved coins directly on your crypto exchange — without first updating Cryptohopper. This causes your trading bot to work with incorrect position data.

What causes this issue

There are two common situations that trigger this problem:

  • Withdrawing reserved coins to an external wallet — You reserve a position in Cryptohopper, then move those coins to a private wallet or staking platform. The coins are no longer on your exchange, but Cryptohopper still shows the position as active.

  • Manually selling a reserved position on your exchange — You sell a reserved position directly on your exchange without removing it in Cryptohopper first. Your bot continues to display the position as if you still hold the coins, making your holdings appear larger than they are.

How to fix it

  1. Go to your Positions overview in Cryptohopper.

  2. Find the affected reserved position.

  3. Click Info, then go to Actions and select Remove.

  4. After removing the position, manually resynchronize your remaining positions at the current market rate or the buy rate from your exchange's trade history.

How to prevent this

Always remove a reserved position in Cryptohopper before you withdraw or manually sell the coins on your exchange. This keeps your bot's data accurate and prevents sync issues.
