Trailing stop-buy orders are a powerful tool for automatically entering positions at optimal price points. However, several factors can prevent these orders from executing as expected. This guide explains the most common reasons why your trailing stop-buy orders might not be going through and how to resolve these issues.
Common Reasons
Too Many Open Orders
You have too many open Trailing stop-buy orders while your buy settings only allow 1 open order per currency. Other open Trailing stop-buy orders will be removed. No Time Limit for Trailing Orders
Trailing stop-buy orders will remain open as long as they get filled and they do overrule your general Max open time buy settings.Buying Disabled
Your bot's 'Buying' is disabled manually on the Dashboard or due to the Triggers you use. Some Marketplace Templates have Triggers configured.Position Limits Reached
You've reached your Max open positions per currency or Max open positions, this can be configured in your 'Buy settings' in the Base config.Order Cooldown Active
There's a cooldown on placing new orders. You can check this under 'Buy settings' in the Base config or Config pools.Positive Pairs Requirement
You've enabled 'Only buy when there are positive pairs' and there are no positive pairs in the configured timeframe.Position Range Restriction
You've enabled 'Only buy if not already in positions' with a 'Percent range' in the Base config, meaning the bot is not allowed to open new positions yet.Insufficient Funds
You don't have sufficient funds to open new positions, please check your Trading bot output on the Dashboard or check the Troubleshooter.Config Pool Settings
You might have configured the currency in a Config pool in which Trailing stop-buy is disabled.Other Trading Errors
You might have other trading errors, please check your trading bot output on the Dashboard for more information.
Troubleshooting Steps
To identify and resolve the issue:
Check your bot's dashboard for error messages
Review your config settings related to buy orders
Verify your available funds
Examine any Triggers or automation rules you've set up
