If you're experiencing issues with your Cryptohopper trigger, there are several potential reasons. This guide will help you troubleshoot and resolve common trigger problems. For more information on how to set up a trigger you can click here.

1. Candle Size Settings

  • Issue: You've selected a 1-minute candle size.

  • Solution: Use at least 5-minute candles. Triggers are checked every 2 minutes, so 1-minute candles may result in missed triggers.

2. Missing Action Selection

  • Issue: No action has been selected for the trigger.

  • Solution: Select one or more actions for your trigger. Remember to click "Save" after making your selection.

3. Cooldown Period

  • Issue: The trigger is in a cooldown period.

  • Solution: Wait for the cooldown period to end. The trigger won't activate again until the cooldown is over.

4. Empty Trigger Values

  • Issue: Trigger values appear in grey. Which means they are empty.

  • Solution: Ensure all trigger values are filled in correctly. Properly set values should appear in black. Below you find an example of the trigger values being in grey.

5. Too Many Indicators

  • Issue: You've selected more indicators than the system allows.

  • Solution: We recommend using 1 or 2 indicators.

6. Missing Trigger ID for TradingView Alerts

7. Overly Long Periods

  • Issue: Selected periods are too long for your trading strategy.

  • Solution: Adjust your trigger periods to better match your trading timeframe. Remember, shorter periods may result in more frequent triggers.

8. Incorrect Use of Percent Change

  • Issue: Percent change values are used incorrectly.

  • Solution:

    • For downward price movements: Use negative numbers (e.g., -6 for a 6% decrease)

    • For upward price movements: Use positive numbers (e.g., 5 for a 5% increase)
