No, you can't use both API keys and Fast Connect at the same time for the same exchange. Using both connection methods simultaneously will cause errors in your trading bot output, and your bot will not be able to execute trades.

What is the difference between API keys and Fast Connect?

Cryptohopper offers two ways to connect your trading bot to a supported exchange:

  • Fast Connect — Creates a secure connection with a single click using oAuth2. You log in to your exchange account directly, and Cryptohopper receives access automatically. This is the easiest way to get started with automated trading. Fast Connect is not available for every exchange.

  • API keys — Requires you to manually create an API key on your exchange and enter it in Cryptohopper. This gives you more control over the specific permissions granted to Cryptohopper. API keys are available for all supported exchanges.

Both methods create a secure connection that allows your bot to place orders and access your balance. You only need one.

Which method should I use?

Cryptohopper recommends Fast Connect for most users because it is faster to set up and does not require manual key management. If Fast Connect is not available for your exchange, or if you prefer more control over API permissions, use API keys instead.
