Why isn't my bot trading?

Encountering trading bot issues? This guide helps diagnose and fix common problems, ensuring effective trading.

Encountering issues with your trading bot? Don't worry, we've got you covered. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to diagnose and resolve common problems preventing your trading bot from trading effectively.

Subscription check

The first step is to verify your subscription status. If you don't have a subscription, you can purchase one here. Ensure your subscription is correctly assigned to the intended trading bot. For instructions on assigning a subscription, refer here.

Important Note: Each subscription allows the use of 1 trading bot template with real funds and 1 trading bot with paper trading funds.

Bot enablement

Check if your trading bot is enabled by navigating to your Dashboard. Here's what to look for:

  1. The first toggle indicates whether your trading bot is enabled. When disabled, your bot won't receive or send information to your crypto exchange, rendering it non-functional.

  2. The second toggle controls buying. If disabled, no trades will open. Triggers can also enable or disable buying.

  3. The third toggle controls selling. If disabled, no positions will be sold. Triggers can also enable or disable buying.

API Keys verification

Ensure your API Keys are correctly set up. Refer to our documentation on how to connect your bot to your crypto exchange here. Follow the tutorial specific to your crypto exchange as setups vary. If you encounter errors, review your setup to identify any mistakes.

Funds availability

Check your funds in two areas:

  1. Total assets on exchange: Displays funds with trading pairs involving your quote currency. Ensure your funds are in your trading wallet if your crypto exchange has separate wallets.

  2. Current assets: Found below your Dashboard, this section displays all assets on your crypto exchange.

Important Note: Sufficient funds in your quote currency are necessary for automated trading.

Bot output errors

Examine the trading bot output for insights into trading bot behaviour. For instance, reaching the maximum number of open positions or allocated investment amount can affect trading, as shown above.
